Jurisdiction: Victoria, Australia
Effective Date: July 2026
In accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd guarantees that all delivery services, whether facilitated via our internal fleet or external third-party courier networks, will be provided with due care and skill.
All delivery, freight, and shipping timelines provided at the time of online checkout, project quotation, or in-store purchase are operational estimates and guidelines only.
·
No Liability for Delays: While we endeavor to ensure timely arrival, Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd is not liable for logistics delays caused by external supply chain fluctuations, customs clearances, transit bottlenecks, extreme weather, or carrier capacity issues.
·
·
Exclusion of Liquidated Damages: The Company accepts zero liability for construction delays, subcontractor standby costs, structural liquidated damages, or council compliance penalties incurred by builders or owners due to a late or delayed delivery.
·
Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd offers a dedicated local truck delivery service facilitated using our own proprietary fleet of vehicles to selected locations.
·
An internal fleet delivery option may be provided when shopping online or in-store, provided that the final destination falls entirely within our designated local delivery zone.
·
·
Curbside Drop Off Only: All in-house fleet deliveries are strictly limited to standard curbside or front-of-site drop-off. Vehicles will not enter private property or unsealed construction sites unless explicitly authorized by the driver, and the customer assumes all liability for property damage resulting from such access.
·
If you have any operational questions regarding an order utilizing the Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd truck delivery option, please contact our dispatch team or your original store of purchase directly. Your local store contact details are located on your online order confirmation email and your official tax invoice.
Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd does not offer promotional, subsidized, or complimentary free shipping. All online and commercial orders are dispatched using specialized third-party freight networks and commercial carrier systems via the Interparcel automated platform to ensure safe and reliable transport.
Standard road freight options are available for online orders processed through third-party freight carriers via the Interparcel platform.
The average estimated transit windows for standard delivery from the date of formal warehouse dispatch are as follows:
·
Australia-Wide (Including most regional areas): 7 to 10 business days.
·
·
Remote Zones: 10 to 15 business days. (This zone includes WA country, Far North QLD, and most of the NT outside of Alice Springs and Darwin).
·
Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd does not offer promotional or complimentary express shipping. Where express transit is requested or selected by the customer, fulfillment is facilitated strictly via our premium third-party freight carriers booked through Interparcel at the customer's sole financial expense.
Express shipping options are available for online orders subject to real-time carrier capacity, volume constraints, package dimension limitations, and carrier weight restrictions.
Actual transit times fluctuate based on real-time supply chain conditions and carrier volume. The standard estimated timeframes for express road or air freight are:
·
Metropolitan Locations: Allow a minimum of 7 to 10 business days from the date of formal warehouse dispatch.
·
·
Regional & Interstate Locations (Including WA, QLD, and NT): Allow 10 to 15 business days for express transit. This window varies based on the exact road distance between our dispatch facility and your specified destination.
·
To protect your premium structural materials from theft, environmental exposure, loss, or weather damage, Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd enforces strict delivery protocols across all third-party freight services managed through Interparcel:
All standard and express third-party freight shipments require an authorized, able-bodied person to be present to provide a physical signature upon delivery arrival.
If an authorized person is not present to receive and sign for your online order during the carrier's delivery window, the freight carrier reserves the right to abort the drop-off and redirect your consignment to their nearest commercial freight depot for secure holding.
·
Customer Liability: The customer is fully liable for all non-refundable return-to-depot surcharges, administrative fees, and secondary re-delivery fees issued by the carrier via Interparcel. These charges must be paid in full before a secondary delivery attempt will be authorized.
·
If the customer explicitly requests or specifies an "Authority to Leave" (ATL) or unattended drop-off for a shipment, all risk of loss, theft, third-party misappropriation, or weather damage transfers entirely and instantaneously to the receiver upon drop-off. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd is fully indemnified against any claims for missing, stolen, or ruined stock once the carrier marks the consignment as delivered.
To ensure a valid transit insurance claim can be successfully lodged with external carriers, all deliveries must be completely unpacked and thoroughly inspected for physical transit damage (including cracks, breaks, chips, or dents) within 48 hours of delivery receipt.
In strict accordance with Interparcel courier claim requirements, all original delivery boxes, crates, pallets, and protective packaging must be kept intact in the exact condition received. Moving the product from the initial delivery drop-off point or disposing of the packaging prior to our formal assessment completely voids the carrier verification process and removes all liability from the Company.
If transit damage is identified, you must immediately contact us within the 48-hour window with clear photographic evidence of both the damaged goods and the external/internal packaging as it arrived. Failure to report transit damage within 48 hours constitutes complete and legally binding acceptance of the product’s physical condition.
·
Strict Cost Allocation: Under no circumstances does Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd pay for, reimburse, or cover any freight, shipping, postage, or logistics costs associated with returned orders.
·
·
All transport and handling costs required to return items to our warehouse—whether for a valid 48-hour online change of mind window, an order modification, or generic claims—are the exclusive financial responsibility of the customer.
·
If an order change or cancellation is requested after an Interparcel consignment label has been generated or a carrier has been booked, the customer is fully liable for all non-refundable courier booking surcharges, remote area fees, and electronic manifests issued by Interparcel. These costs will be deducted directly from any final credit or refund, in addition to our standard 20% restocking fee.
Once a delivery service has been completed or a delivery attempt has been executed by a carrier to the address specified on the order, the delivery fee is deemed fully consumed. To the extent permitted by law, Melbourne Building Products Pty Ltd will not be liable for any full or partial refund of delivery fees or freight surcharges once the courier transaction has left our floor.
